How Shiply works
Shiply describes itself as a marketplace where customers create a delivery listing and transport providers send quotes. Customers can compare prices and provider feedback before selecting a quote. Shiply’s support information says a deposit is paid online when an accepted quote is confirmed, with the remaining transport balance handled with the chosen provider.
How Deliverate works
Deliverate also uses a quote marketplace model. You describe the goods, collection and delivery areas, preferred dates and handling requirements, then review responses from couriers who want the job. You decide which courier to use.
Deliverate’s public pricing currently states that posting is free and that a successful marketplace booking adds a booking fee equal to 15% of the courier charge, subject to a minimum fee of £15. Tracking and full proof of delivery can be included in the courier’s service or added to an eligible booking for £42 including VAT.
