Moving a fridge or washing machine needs more than an empty space in a van. A clear request helps a courier assess the load and the handling.
Identify the appliance
Give the appliance type, model if known, dimensions and approximate weight. Say whether it is boxed, used or still installed. Include any manufacturer transport instructions that need to be followed.
Prepare it before collection
Arrange any necessary disconnection with an appropriate professional and follow the manufacturer’s preparation instructions. Do not assume the courier will disconnect, install, remove packaging or dispose of an old appliance unless these services are explicitly agreed.
Explain the access
Tell the courier about steps, narrow doors, lifts, floor levels and parking distance. Say if specialist handling equipment or additional people will be needed. Check that the item can pass through the delivery route into the property.
Check the offer before booking
Compare the proposed vehicle, handling, dates and service exclusions. The customer selects the courier; a driver’s response alone does not confirm the booking.
