A great second-hand find should not become a logistical puzzle. Give couriers the details they need to quote for moving it.
Measure the item and the way in
List each piece and its dimensions. For a sofa, include the overall length, depth and height, plus whether the legs come off. For a bed or table, say whether it will be disassembled before collection.
Check doorways, corridors, stairs and lift dimensions at both properties. A vehicle that fits the furniture is only part of the job.
Be clear about lifting help
State the floor at collection and delivery, whether there is a working lift and how close the van can park. Tell the courier if you need two-person handling or delivery into a particular room. Do not assume that the seller or recipient can help lift.
Agree collection with the seller
Confirm when the item is available, whether it is packed and who will hand it over. Share personal contact details only through the protected booking process. Public photos should show the furniture without revealing private paperwork or contact information.
Compare what the quote includes
Check loading, unloading, protection, waiting time and any dismantling or assembly requirements. Confirm the agreed service before selecting your courier and completing the available booking process.
